Personal Experience

If you've had a hard time, reading about other people's struggle with Lyme disease can bring hope and courage.

Whether you are new to the disease or have struggled with it for years, it can be particularly helpful to read about the chronological ordering of multiple symptoms, the varying degree of disability, and the wide difference of other people's struggle; not only to validate the reality of your own symptoms but to combat the feeling (or labeling) of being "crazy".

Internationally acclaimed author and Honorary Chairperson of Lyme Disease Association, Amy Tan, has been a prominant spokeswoman for LDA.  In addition to her help in raising the necessary funds to open the first chronic Lyme disease facility in the country, she has helped raise public awareness of this harrowing illness, and bravely shares her ongoing struggle with neurological Lyme disease.
